I just finished co-teaching the “Three Puzzles in Syntax and Semantics” course at NYI with Asya Pereltsvaig and Daniel Altshuler, where my “puzzle” was the Definiteness Effect, and why there is no hope for a semantic account of it. (Avid readers may recognize this theme from elsewhere.)
